Milk Thistle contains flavonoids and other antioxidants that can help protect the skin from damage caused by free radicals. Milk thistle has anti-inflammatory properties that may help calm skin irritation, redness, and inflammation associated with conditions like acne, eczema, or psoriasis. These same properties make it perfect for helping to heal wounds and minor skin abrasions.
Yarrow has been used historically to promote wound healing due to its astringent properties. It may help to stop bleeding, reduce inflammation, and promote tissue regeneration. Yarrow contains compounds like tannins and flavonoids that have antimicrobial properties. This can help in preventing infections and keeping the skin clean and healthy.
Calendula is moisturizing, soothing, and calming. Calendula has a gentle effect on the skin, making it suitable for sensitive skin types. It can help alleviate discomfort and itching associated with various skin conditions, providing relief and comfort. Calendula's anti-inflammatory properties make it beneficial for soothing sunburned skin. It’s anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties make it a great aid for cuts, bruises, stings, and abrasions.
Red Clover extracts have been used traditionally for wound healing purposes. The anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties of red clover may aid in the healing process and reduce the risk of infection. Red clover extracts may have moisturizing properties, helping to hydrate the skin and improve its overall texture and appearance. Certain compounds in red clover, such as isoflavones, may help to brighten the skin and improve its tone and complexion.
Bee Balm contains compounds with antimicrobial and antifungal properties, making it effective against certain bacteria and fungi that can cause skin infections or acne breakouts. Some research suggests that bee balm may promote wound healing due to its antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties. Applying bee balm to minor cuts or abrasions may help to speed up the healing process and prevent infection. Bee balm contains natural oils that help to moisturize the skin, keeping it hydrated and preventing dryness. The pleasant aroma of bee balm essential oil can have calming and relaxing effects.
St. John’s Wort has been traditionally used topically to promote wound healing. Its anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties may help in reducing inflammation, preventing infection, and speeding up the healing process of cuts, scrapes, and minor wounds. St. John's Wort contains several antioxidants, such as flavonoids and phenolic compounds, which help in neutralizing free radicals and protecting the skin from oxidative stress. This can contribute to maintaining healthy and youthful-looking skin by reducing the damage caused by environmental factors like UV radiation and pollution.
